Undefeated Uralmash (4-1) recorded its first loss in Sankt Petersburg. Visitors were edged by seventh ranked Zenit-2 (4-2) 94-91. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Uralmash. Zenit-2 shot 62.7 percent from the field. Zenit-2 had a 27-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Uralmash was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Andrey Toptunov (183-2002) scored 17 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Stanislav Sotnikov (200-1985, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Zenit-2's coach Boris Livanov allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was the former international Aleksandr Zakharov (202-1993) with 21 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Anton Glazunov (185-1986) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Zenit-2 and five Uralmash players scored in double figures. Zenit-2 moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Khimki and Univ.Surgut. Uralmash at the other side keeps the fourth position with one game lost. Zenit-2 will play against Univ.Surgut (#6) at home in the next round. Uralmash will play against Novosybirsk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
