Regular Season Round 7: Nika - Dynamo NR 85-59

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Nika (6-1) rolled over 8th ranked Dynamo NR (2-5) in Syktyvkar 85-59 on Wednesday. Nika shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Dynamo NR's players. It was an exceptional evening for Canadian center Saicha Grant-Allen (196-1995, college: Dayton) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Julia Poluyanova (187-1992) accounted for 19 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winning side. Five Nika players scored in double figures. American guard Ashley Beverly-Kelley (168-1993, college: Troy) came up with 20 points and 5 rebounds and DR Congolese power forward La Mama Kapinga-Maweja (194-1997, agency: LBM Management) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Dynamo NR in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Nika. They moved-up to third place, which they share with MBA. Dynamo NR lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Enisey and Samara. Nika will meet Sparta&K MR (#6) in the next round. Dynamo NR will play against the league's second-placed UMMC and hope to secure a win.
