Very important is a road loss of second ranked Monthey (4-3) against fourth ranked Boncourt (3-3) on Wednesday night. Visiting Monthey was crushed by Boncourt in Boncourt 93-70. Boncourt outrebounded Monthey 41-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. Monthey was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American Marvin Nesbitt Jr (193-1998, college: UMKC) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and the former international Florian Steinmann (197-1991) supported him with 25 points and 7 rebounds. Even 20 points and 7 rebounds by American guard Jay Jay Chandler III (193-1998, college: USA) did not help to save the game for Monthey. His fellow American import forward Markel Humphrey (198-1987, college: Marshall) added 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Monthey's coach Patrick Pembele gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Despite that victory Boncourt went down to sixth position due to points difference. Monthey lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. Boncourt will play against Neuchatel (#10) at home in the next round. Monthey will play against the league's leader Massagno (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
