Regular Season Round 9: Atomeromu - Sopron 70-68

The biggest surprise took place in Szekszard where host Szekszard (8-2) edged league's leader Sopron (9-1) 70-68 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Sopron. The best player for the winners was American guard Victoria Vivians (187, college: MSU) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. The former international point guard Agnes Studer (169-1998) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Szekszard players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Brittney Sykes (175-1994, college: Syracuse) who recorded 21 points and 4 assists and the former international guard Zsofia Fegyverneky (178-1984) added 20 points and 4 assists respectively. Szekszard have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Defending champion Sopron dropped to the second position with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Uni Gyor. Sopron will play next round against league's leader Uni Gyor trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Szekszard will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked PEAC-Pecs on the road.
