Rather predictable result in Yekaterinburg where leader UMMC (8-0) outscored 6th ranked Sparta&K MR (4-5) 86-52. UMMC dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Sparta&K MR's 28. They outrebounded Sparta&K MR 36-23 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for UMMC especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a good game for international center Maria Vadeeva (193-1998) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Belarusian forward Maryia Papova (188-1994) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four UMMC players scored in double figures. Forward Sabina Abaydullina (186-1997) answered with 14 points and 5 rebounds and the former international Daria Ignatova (180-2000) added 10 points in the effort for Sparta&K MR. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for UMMC. They maintain second place with 8-0 record behind leader Dynamo K. Sparta&K MR at the other side keeps the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Samara. UMMC will play against Nika (#4) in Syktyvkar in the next round. Sparta&K MR will play at home against Rostov and hopes to get back on the winning track.
