Regular Season Round 6: APOP - Keravnos 53-81

Round 6 most important game was a victory of Keravnos over 6th ranked APOP 81-53 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of APOP. The game was mostly controlled by Keravnos. APOP managed to win fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding APOP to just 7 points in third quarter. Keravnos forced 23 APOP turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American Titus Robinson (201-1990, college: Buffalo) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. International point guard Filippos Tigkas (184-2002) contributed with 10 points and 7 assists for the winners. American forward Aamondae Coleman (200-1998, college: FPU) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import guard JaQualyn Gilbreath (188-1998, college: TWU) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for APOP. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion (3-1) moved-up to third place. APOP at the other side dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. Keravnos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nicosia Anorthosis.
