Regular Season Round 10: Nika - UMMC 40-70

An interesting game for UMMC (9-0) which played road game in Syktyvkar against 4th ranked Nika (6-4). Top-ranked UMMC had an easy win 70-40. UMMC dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Nika's 24. International center Maria Vadeeva (193-1998) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian power forward Tina Krajisnik-Jovanovic (190-1991) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. UMMC's coach Dmitry Donskov felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Julia Poluyanova (187-1992) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Slovenian point guard Nika Baric (169-1992) scored 5 points and 4 assists. UMMC have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Nika lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Nadezhda. UMMC will play against Dynamo K. (#3) in Kursk in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Nika will play at home against Rostov and hopes to get back on the winning track.
