Regular Season Round 8: Starwings - Neuchatel 65-62

Important game to mention about took place in Basel. Sixth ranked Starwings (5-5) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 8th ranked Neuchatel (3-5) 65-62 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Neuchatel. Starwings made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Strangely Neuchatel outrebounded Starwings 45-29 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Shawn Williams (185-1998, college: UAPB) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). The former international swingman Vid Milenkovic (194-1995, college: UW-Superior) contributed with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Grenadian center Arkim Robertson (208-1994, college: CS Fullerton) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds and American point guard Nate West (180-1998, college: LeTourneau) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Neuchatel. Neuchatel's coach Mitar Trivunovic tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Starwings moved-up to fifth place. Neuchatel at the other side keeps the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Boncourt. Starwings will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Neuchatel will play on the road against Swiss Central (#11) in Luzern and hopes to get back on the winning track.
