There was no surprise in Yekaterinburg where 11th ranked Stavropol (1-9) was crushed by second ranked UMMC Junior (9-2) 99-56 on Monday. UMMC Junior dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Stavropol's 14 and made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. UMMC Junior forced 20 Stavropol turnovers and outrebounded them 44-22 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. UMMC Junior looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Stavropol's players. Guard Anna Borodina (179-2002) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Maria Sedykina (176-2004) chipped in 7 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. UMMC Junior's coach felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest.
