The game had a very big importance for second-ranked UMMC as it allowed them to take a leadership position. UMMC defeated 9th ranked Rostov in Yekaterinburg 76-58. UMMC dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Rostov's 30. They outrebounded Rostov 36-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. UMMC looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Alexandra Stolyar (180-1992) who scored 10 points and 5 assists. International point guard Kseniia Levchenko (167-1996) chipped in 7 points and 7 rebounds. Four UMMC players scored in double figures. UMMC's coach Dmitry Donskov used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Masha Adashchyk (180-1998, college: Minnesota) who recorded 19 points and 5 rebounds and Belarusian swingman Aryna Masko (179-1999, agency: LBM Management) added 13 points respectively. UMMC (11-0) have an impressive 11-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Rostov lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Dynamo NR. Rostov will play next round against strong Dynamo K. trying to get back on the winning streak. UMMC will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Samara on the road.
