There was no surprise in Kursk where 11th ranked Neftyanik (1-10) was crushed by third ranked Dynamo K. (10-2) 104-58 on Wednesday. Dynamo K. made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Dynamo K. outrebounded Neftyanik 45-23 including a 37-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Neftyanik's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian-American guard Ezinne Kalu (173-1992, college: SSU) who helped to win the game recording 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Slovenian center Eva Lisec (193-1995, agency: LBM Management) who added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Dynamo K. players scored in double figures. Coach Thibaut Petit's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was forward Albina Khamitova (186-1994) with 12 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Anastasya Alexeeva (181-1995) scored 9 points. Defending champion maintains third position with 10-2 record behind leader UMMC. Neftyanik lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with ten games lost. Dynamo K. will meet Rostov (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Neftyanik will play against Dynamo M. in Moscow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
