Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Sopron KC (8-4) defeated at home 7th ranked Kormend (6-6) 86-80 on Tuesday. Sopron KC made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game, while Kormend only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Kormend 44-26 including 18 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by American-Slovakian guard Andre Jones (191-1990, college: Winthrop) who scored that evening 22 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Jordan Barnett (201-1995, college: Missouri) supported him with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Four Sopron KC players scored in double figures. Sopron KC's coach Kostas Flevarakis used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Even 26 points and 7 rebounds by American Mike Moore (203-1994, college: Mount Olive) did not help to save the game for Kormend. His fellow American import point guard Siyani Chambers (183-1993, college: Harvard) added 8 points and 6 assists. Sopron KC have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Kormend lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Sopron KC will meet at home bottom-ranked Hubner NBS (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kormend will play against Atomeromu (#5) in Paks and hope to secure a win.
