Regular Season Round 12: Szedeak - Atomeromu 71-72

Very predictable result when sixth ranked Atomeromu (7-5) edged 12th ranked Szedeak (2-10) in Szeged 72-71 on Saturday. The winners were led by U.S. Virgin Islands guard Deon Edwin (190-1992, college: Kent St.) who scored that evening 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Akos Kovacs (183-1988) supported him with 18 points. Four Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Even 24 points and 5 assists by American guard Desi Washington (188-1992, college: St.Peter's) did not help to save the game for Szedeak. The former international power forward Kristof Bognar (205-1994) added 14 points and 13 rebounds. Atomeromu have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with ZTE KK and Duna Aszfalt. Szedeak lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with ten games lost. They share it with Bp. Honved. Atomeromu will meet at home Kormend (#8) in the next round. Szedeak will play against OSE Lions (#9) in Oraszlany and hope to secure a win.
