No shocking result in a game in Moscow where fifth ranked MBA-2 (10-4) defeated 9th ranked Spartak SP (4-9) 65-55 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Spartak SP 49-29 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. MBA-2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Center Valeria Yakovleva (187-2004) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and center Anastasiia Bobrik (185-2001) chipped in 10 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. MBA-2's coach Andrey Dolopchi used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side forward Tatyana Soloveva (182-1997) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and forward Alexandra Andrushchenko (180-2001) scored 17 points. MBA-2 moved-up to fourth place. Loser Spartak SP keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. MBA-2 will meet at home league's second-placed UMMC Junior in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spartak SP will play against the league's leader Chevakata (#1) in Vologda and hope to secure a win.
