Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Szekszard (11-4) smashed at home 8th ranked Vasas Csata (5-8) 86-53 on Friday. Szekszard dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Vasas Csata's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Vasas Csata's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Victoria Vivians (187, college: MSU) who scored 19 points and 4 assists. The former international point guard Agnes Studer (169-1998) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 assists. Four Szekszard players scored in double figures. Serbian guard Nadija Smailbegovic (177-2001) produced 17 points and forward Eszter Madar (186-2002) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Szekszard maintains fifth position with 11-4 record. Vasas Csata lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with eight games lost. Szekszard will meet BKG Prima (#9) in the next round. Vasas Csata will play against the league's second-placed Uni Gyor and hope to secure a win.
