Regular Season Round 12: Keravnos - Etha 108-65

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Keravnos as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Keravnos smashed 7th ranked Etha in Nicosia 108-65. The game without a history. Keravnos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Etha's 28. They outrebounded Etha 42-25 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Keravnos shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Etha's players. It was a good game for the former international point guard Filippos Tigkas (184-2002) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Zach Thomas (203-1996, college: Bucknell) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. American guard Malik Curry (185-1999, college: WVU, agency: Green Sports Management) replied with 27 points (went 13 for 13 at the free throw line !!!) and his fellow American import forward Jaylen Key (203-1997, college: New Orleans, agency: One Motive Sports) added 16 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Etha. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Keravnos (9-1) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Etha lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with five games lost. Etha will play next round against Apollon trying to get back on the winning streak. Keravnos will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked E.N. Paralimni on the road.
