Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Samara and 7th ranked Enisey had identical 7-8 record. This time Samara used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Krasnoyarsk 71-65 on Wednesday night. Samara made 25-of-28 free shots (89.3 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Enisey helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Marina Bas (194-1985) who helped to win the game recording 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Brazilian forward Isabela Macedo (180-1994) contributed with 11 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Samara players scored in double figures. Belarusian center Viktoryia Hasper (192-1988) replied with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Arseniia Matveeva (181-2000) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Enisey. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Samara (8-8) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Sparta&K MR and Nika. Enisey at the other side dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Samara is looking forward to face higher ranked Nadezhda (#4) in Orenburg in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Enisey will play on the road against Dynamo K. (#3) in Kursk and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
