Regular Season Round 16: MBA-2 - Runa 70-69

Eighth-ranked Runa (6-10) made lots of trouble for third ranked MBA-2 (12-4) in Moscow. MBA-2 managed to secure only one-point victory 70-69. However their fans expected much easier game. MBA-2 outrebounded Runa 44-26 including 19 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Anastasia Bocharova (182-1977) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 7 rebounds. Center Valeria Yakovleva (187-2004) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Forward Yulia Savukova (177-2006) replied with 20 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and Mariia Cheremisina (174-1992) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Runa. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. MBA-2 have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with UMMC Junior. Newly promoted Runa keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. MBA-2 will play against Dynamo-Farm (#4) in Kursk in the next round. Runa will play on the road against Stavropol (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
