Regular Season Round 12: AEL - Anagennises 76-55

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Limassol: AEL (#1) and Anagennises (#2). AEL (12-0) smashed visiting Anagennises (9-3) by 21 points 76-55. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Anagennises. The game was mostly controlled by AEL. Anagennises managed to win second period 17-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AEL forced 20 Anagennises turnovers. It was a good game for American swingman Hailey Leidel (180-1997, college: UMass) who led her team to a victory with 22 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Eleni Oikonomidou (180-1997) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American guard Cassidy Mihalko (180-1995, college: CBU) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Bulgarian power forward Styliana Velinova (192-2000) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Anagennises. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AEL have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-0 record. Defending champion Anagennises keeps the second place with three games lost.
