Regular Season Round 18: Samara - MBA 74-65

The most important game in the last round took place in Samara between second ranked MBA (15-3) and seventh ranked Samara (9-9) on Thursday night. MBA was defeated by Samara in a tough game on the road 65-74. Samara looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Marina Bas (194-1985) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. The former international Daria Kolosovskaya (182-1996, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. Four Samara players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Mariya Krymova (170-2001) who recorded 19 points and the former international Elena Kirillova (185-1986, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Samara moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Sparta&K MR and Nika. MBA at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. Samara is looking forward to face Neftyanik (#11) in Omsk in the next round where they are favorite. MBA will play at home against Enisey (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
