There was a minor upset in Novosibirsk where 6th ranked Nika (9-9) was defeated by ninth ranked Dynamo NR (6-12) 76-62 on Thursday. Puerto Rican forward Mya Hollingshed (190-1999, college: Colorado) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and DR Congolese power forward La Mama Kapinga-Maweja (194-1997, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Dynamo NR players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Serbian Nevena Jovanovic (182-1990) with 13 points and Slovenian point guard Nika Baric (169-1992) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dynamo NR maintains ninth position with 6-12 record. Loser Nika dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Sparta&K MR and Samara. Dynamo NR will meet league's leader UMMC in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Nika will play against Sparta&K MR (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
