We should mention about the upset which took place in Nicosia, where 6th ranked Anorthosis (5-7) lost at home to ninth ranked APOP (4-8) 62-70 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 36-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. APOP forced 19 Anorthosis turnovers. It was a great shooting night for APOP especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. American Jalen Seegars (196, college: Fayetteville St.) scored 30 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian guard Bratislav Paunovic (190-1995) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists during the contest. American forward Pauly Paulicap (203-1997, college: WVU) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Levi Bradley (201-1996, college: NIU) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Anorthosis players scored in double figures. APOP moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Achilleas K. Anorthosis lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Etha. APOP will meet at home bottom-ranked Omonia (#11) in the next round. Anorthosis will have a break next round.
