Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Nika made 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for Canadian center Saicha Grant-Allen (196-1995, college: Dayton) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Serbian Nevena Jovanovic (182-1990) accounted for 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Four Nika players scored in double figures. The former international Daria Ignatova (180-2000) came up with 18 points and 6 rebounds and forward Anna Pozdnyakova (180-2000) added 18 points respectively for Sparta&K MR in the defeat. Nika moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Samara. Loser Sparta&K MR dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. Nika will meet league's second-placed Dynamo K. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sparta&K MR will play against the league's leader UMMC (#1) and hope to secure a win.
