Regular Season Round 18: Dynamo-Farm - UMMC Junior 81-75

Very important is a road loss of second ranked UMMC Junior (13-5) against fourth ranked Dynamo-Farm (13-4) on Thursday night. Visiting UMMC Junior was defeated by Dynamo-Farm in a tough game in Kursk 75-81. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Dynamo-Farm made 18-of-18 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Dynamo-Farm outrebounded UMMC Junior 38-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. Center Ksenia Nesterova (195-1998) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Yana Elberg (177-2004) supported her with 20 points and 5 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Four Dynamo-Farm players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 4 assists by forward Darya Sidorova (176-2001) did not help to save the game for UMMC Junior. Swingman Maria Sedykina (176-2004) added 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dynamo-Farm have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. UMMC Junior at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. They share it with Kazanochka and MBA-2. Dynamo-Farm will play against Dynamo-En.IVA (#9) in Ivanovo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. UMMC Junior will play at home against Kazanochka (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
