Regular Season Round 17: Miskolc - UNI Gyor 94-87

The game between second ranked Uni Gyor (14-2) and fourth ranked Miskolc (14-2) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Uni Gyor was defeated by Miskolc in a tough game in Miskolc 87-94. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Uni Gyor. Miskolc made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Miskolc especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Puerto Rican-American point guard Arella Guirantes (181-1997, college: Rutgers) stepped up and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and British forward Cheridene Green (191-1995, college: Tennessee) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Aaryn Ellenberg-Wiley (168-1992, college: Oklahoma) responded with 30 points and 4 assists and the other American import forward Beatrice Mompremier (193, college: Miami, FL) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Miskolc and five Uni Gyor players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Miskolc have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Uni Gyor. Miskolc is looking forward to face PEAC-Pecs (#4) on the road in the next round. Uni Gyor will play against TFSE-MTK and is hoping to win this game.
