Regular Season Round 19: UMMC Junior - Kazanochka 67-72

The biggest surprise of round 19 was guest Kazanochka's (14-5) road victory over UMMC Junior (#5) 72-67 on Wednesday evening. Kazanochka made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 UMMC Junior turnovers. Power forward Elena Fedotova (185-1990) fired 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Karina Levenkova (166-2002) chipped in 13 points and 7 assists. Power forward Margarita Kuzyakina (190-2002) produced 18 points and center Alena Burmakina (194-2004) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 blocks respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kazanochka have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with MBA-2. UMMC Junior at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Kazanochka is looking forward to face MBA-2 (#4) in Moscow in the next round. UMMC Junior will play at home against Spartak N. and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
