Regular Season Round 18: PEAC-Pecs - Miskolc 65-69

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Pecs. Third ranked Miskolc faced 4th ranked PEAC-Pecs. Guests from Miskolc (15-2) defeated host PEAC-Pecs (14-4) 69-65. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of PEAC-Pecs. Strangely PEAC-Pecs outrebounded Miskolc 47-33 including 19 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was British forward Cheridene Green (191-1995, college: Tennessee) who scored 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Puerto Rican-American point guard Arella Guirantes (181-1997, college: Rutgers) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Virag Kiss (195-1998) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds and Serbian point guard Ivana Katanic (180-1999) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Four PEAC-Pecs players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Miskolc have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Uni Gyor. PEAC-Pecs at the other side keep the fourth position with four games lost. Miskolc is looking forward to face Vasas Csata (#8) in Budapest in the next round where they are favorite. PEAC-Pecs will play on the road against FCSM Csata (#7) in Budapest and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
