Very predictable result when third ranked Miskolc (16-3) rolled over 8th ranked Vasas Akademia (7-12) in Budapest 80-55 on Friday. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Nina Aho (179-1997, college: Duquesne) who led the winners and scored 11 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. The former international center Angelika Kiss (192-2001) accounted for 12 points for the winning side. Point guard Klaudia Papp (168-1995) came up with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American center Schaquilla Nunn (190, college: Tennessee) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Vasas Akademia in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Miskolc. They maintain third place with 16-3 record having just two points less than leader Sopron. Loser Vasas Akademia dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Ludovika-Csata. Miskolc will meet ELTE BEAC (#6) in the next round. Vasas Akademia will play against PINKK-Pecsi and hope to secure a win.
