Very expected game in Saint Petersburg where 11th ranked Zenit-2 (8-17) was rolled over by second ranked Runa Basket (23-1) 97-69. Runa Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Zenit-2's players. American guard Mike Davis (193-1996, college: Queens, NC) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points. Forward Artem Komissarov (199-1990, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Danil Pevnev (203-2000) replied with 10 points and 9 rebounds and guard Konstantin Shevchuk (190-2000) added 13 points in the effort for Zenit-2. Four Zenit-2 players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Runa Basket have an impressive 18-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Uralmash. Newly promoted Zenit-2 keeps the eleventh place with 17 games lost. Runa Basket will play against Univ.Surgut (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zenit-2 will have a break next round.
