Second Stage Round 6: Neftyanik - Nika 47-82

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Nika (16-13) rolled over 11th ranked Neftyanik (5-23) in Omsk 82-47 on Tuesday. Nika outrebounded Neftyanik 51-25 including a 38-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Neftyanik's players. Canadian center Saicha Grant-Allen (196-1995, college: Dayton) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Polina Fedorova (189-1995) supported her with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Nika players scored in double figures. Even 7 points and 11 rebounds by power forward Viktoriya Ponamarchuk (187-1995) did not help to save the game for Neftyanik. Forward Albina Khamitova (186-1994) added 12 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nika have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Nadezhda. Newly promoted Neftyanik keeps the eleventh position with 23 games lost. Nika will meet at home Rostov (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Neftyanik will play against Dynamo M. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
