Second Stage Round 6: Samara - UMMC 69-92

PBL top team - UMMC (29-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Samara (14-15) 92-69. They outrebounded Samara 37-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. UMMC players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists. The former international center Maria Vadeeva (193-1998) scored 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian power forward Tina Krajisnik-Jovanovic (190-1991) chipped in 18 points during the contest. Five UMMC players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Marina Bas (194-1985) with 21 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian point guard Sanja Mandic (178-1995) scored 13 points and 8 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. UMMC have an impressive 29-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 29-0 record. Samara at the other side keeps the fifth place with 15 games lost. UMMC will play against Nadezhda (#4) in Orenburg in the next round. Samara will play at home against Sparta&K MR and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
