Second Stage Round 8: Chevakata - MBA-2 89-83

The game between Top Four teams took place in Vologda. Third ranked host Chevakata (21-9) defeated second-ranked MBA-2 (21-9) 89-83. Chevakata forced 22 MBA-2 turnovers. Strangely MBA-2 outrebounded Chevakata 42-24 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Alina Zabolotskaya (179-1993) who scored 15 points and 5 assists. Forward Marina Sheveleva (183-1989) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Center Anastasiia Bobrik (185-2001) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Alexandra Eliseeva (170-2005) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Five Chevakata and four MBA-2 players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chevakata have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated MBA-2. Chevakata will meet Kazanochka (#4) on the road in the next round. MBA-2 will play against UMMC Junior and hope to secure a win.
