Second-ranked Dynamo K. (24-7) made lots of trouble for top-ranked UMMC (31-0) in Kursk on Wednesday. The visitors from Yekaterinburg managed to secure only three-point victory 53-50. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dynamo K.. The best player for the winners was Belarusian-American point guard Alex Bentley (173-1990, college: Penn St.) who scored 20 points. Belarusian forward Maryia Papova (188-1994) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. UMMC's coach Dmitry Donskov used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Slovenian center Eva Lisec (193-1995, agency: LBM Management) produced 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Nigerian-American guard Ezinne Kalu (173-1992, college: SSU) added 9 points respectively for the hosts. UMMC have an impressive 31-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 31-0 record. Defending champion Dynamo K. keeps the second place with seven games lost. They share the position with MBA. UMMC are looking forward to face league's second-placed MBA in Moscow in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dynamo K. will play on the road against Samara and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
