Regular Season Round 22: Etha - Omonia 51-75

Bottom-ranked Omonia managed to get the second consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they outleveled seventh-ranked Etha in Nicosia 75-51. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 24-point difference proves that Omonia was well-prepared to that game. The game was mostly controlled by Omonia. Etha managed to win second period 12-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Etha's 22. They outrebounded Etha 39-26 including 32 on the defensive glass. Omonia looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Etha's players. American swingman Elias Harden (198-1999, college: EWC) fired 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The other American import power forward Jordan Dallas (208-1997, college: Seattle) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Dallas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Omonia players scored in double figures. Forward Michalis Kyriakides (195-1997) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds and guard Georgios Konstantinou (183-2004) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Etha's coach Christos Stylianidis gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Omonia maintains eleventh position with 4-16 record. Loser Etha keeps the seventh place with 12 games lost.
