There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Swiss Central (3-20) edged higher ranked Monthey (10-13) in Luzern 88-85 on Saturday. Swiss Central made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Trevion Lamar (196-1999, college: Catawba) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 4 assists. Naturalized Belgian center Stan Leemans (203-1992) accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American guard Jaizec Lottie (188-1998, college: Flagler) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 assists and the other American import forward Markel Humphrey (198-1987, college: Marshall) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Monthey in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Monthey's coach Patrick Pembele tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Swiss Central maintains eleventh place with 3-20 record. Loser Monthey keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. Swiss Central will meet at home higher ranked Nyon (#10) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Monthey will play against Starwings in Basel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
