There was an upset in Geneve where 4th placed Bernex (11-8) was edged by ninth ranked Villars (8-13) 67-64 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was power forward Ludovic De Gottrau (194-1991) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Senegalese center Mansour Kasse (208-1992) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Four Villars players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Guillaume Bourgeois (186-1998) who recorded 17 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Gregory Mbeng (202-2001) added 11 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Villars maintains ninth place with 8-13 record. Newly promoted Bernex dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Villars will meet at home bottom-ranked Baeren (#12) in the next round. Bernex will play against the league's second-placed GC Zurich (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
