The biggest surprise took place in Yekaterinburg where host Uralmash (25-2) crushed league's leader Runa Basket (25-2) 80-59 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the 20-game winning streak of Runa Basket. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Uralmash forced 19 Runa Basket turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international Aleksandr Zakharov (202-1993) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Anton Glazunov (185-1986) chipped in 7 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-1988, college: Georgia Tech) produced 12 points and 8 rebounds and center Ilia Popov (210-1995, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 7 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Uralmash keeps a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Runa Basket. There is only one round left in the Regular Season. And it will be most important game for Runa Basket this season. They will face strong TSU trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Uralmash will try to continue on its current victory against fifteenth ranked Lok.Kuban in Krasnodar.
