Szombathely used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Kaposvar 103-66 on Saturday night. Szombathely dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Kaposvari's 32. They outrebounded Kaposvari 47-28 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Szombathely looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Kaposvari's players. It was a great evening for forward Marko Krivacsevics (205-1996, college: IUP, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds. Serbian guard Stefan Pot (194-1994) helped adding 16 points and 5 assists. Five Szombathely players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Serbian center Milos Koprivica (208-1995) with 22 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Remy Abell (193-1992, college: Xavier) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Szombathely will meet Szedeak (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Kaposvari will play against Atomeromu in Paks and hope to win that game.
