The most surprising game was the first loss of Runa (3-1) in Vologda on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked Chevakata (2-1) 59-49. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Runa. Chevakata held Runa to an opponent 20.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.4 percent accuracy of the winners. Chevakata had a 36-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Kristina Kord (184-2001) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Maria Kanischeva (177-2000, agency: LBM Management) who added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. At the losing side forward Yulia Savukova (177-2006) responded with 14 points and Belarusian forward Yanina Inkina (186-1997, college: UALR, agency: TPA) scored 14 points. Runa's coach Viktor Danilov rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Chevakata moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Runa at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Spartak N.. Chevakata is looking forward to face MBA-2 (#6) in Moscow in the next round. Runa will play at home against Novocherkassk (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
