Regular Season Round 2: APOP - Moufflons 59-55

There was no surprise in Paphou where Moufflons was defeated by APOP 59-55 on Sunday. Moufflons trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 18-8 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 55-59 at the end of the game. APOP dominated on the defensive end, holding Moufflons to just 6 points in third quarter. They also forced 22 Moufflons turnovers. The best player for the winners was Panagiota Themistokleous (185-2000) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Ioanna Papanikolaou chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. APOP's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Kylie Meadows (180, college: Bluefield) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and Vasiliki Pousiapake (176-2005) added 18 points respectively for the guests. APOP are looking forward to face AEL in Limassol in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Moufflons will have a break next round.
