Regular Season Round 4: Moufflons - AEL 50-87
Date: October 28, 2023
Division A top team - AEL (4-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Moufflons (0-3) 87-50. The game without a history. AEL led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Moufflons to an opponent 22.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 53.1 percent accuracy of the winners. AEL players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Moufflons' players. The winners were led by American swingman Sara Dickey (177-1995, college: Evansville) who scored that evening 32 points and 4 steals and the former international guard Sofia Stylianidi (174-2003) supported her with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Even a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds by American forward Kylie Meadows (180, college: Bluefield) did not help to save the game for Moufflons. Guard Ellada Gavrielidou (165-2004) added 10 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AEL have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-0 record. Newly promoted Moufflons still closes the standings with three games lost.
