There was no surprise in Nicosia where 5th ranked APOP (2-2) was defeated by top-ranked Keravnos (3-0) 94-76 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 17-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-76. Keravnos outrebounded APOP 48-28 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Delano Spencer (193-1994, college: Tennessee St.) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and the former international forward Ioannis Pasiali (202-1997) who added 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Raekwon Rogers (203-1999, college: Wagner, agency: One Motive Sports) responded with 24 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Brandon McKissic (190-1999, college: Florida, agency: Diamond Sports) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Keravnos have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Apoel. Loser APOP keeps the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Keravnos will meet bottom-ranked E.N. Paralimni (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. APOP will have a break next round.
