There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Levaux (2-3) was outscored by tenth ranked Swiss Central (2-2) in Vevey 88-44 on Sunday. Swiss Central held Levaux to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 54.7 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Levaux 53-35 including a 40-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Jermale Jones (185-1986, college: Tuskegee) nailed 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and naturalized Belgian center Stan Leemans (203-1992) accounted for 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Tanguy Falk (190-2000) came up with 11 points and 7 rebounds and guard Mathieu Giroud (190-1996, college: Cuesta JC) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Levaux in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Swiss Central moved-up to seventh place. Loser Levaux dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with GC Zurich and Vevey U23. Swiss Central will meet at home Vevey U23 (#10) in the next round. Levaux will play against GC Zurich and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
