Not a big story in a game when 9th rankedSopron KC (3-4) lost at home to second ranked Szombathely (6-1) 89-74 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Zoltan Perl (195-1995) who led the winners and scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Marcell Pongo (194-1997, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Szombathely players scored in double figures. Brazilian forward Tulio Da Silva (203-1996, college: Missouri St.) came up with 20 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard David Nichols (183-1996, college: FSU) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for Sopron KC in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Szombathely . Defending champion maintains second place with 6-1 record behind leader Alba. Loser Sopron KC dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Kaposvari and OSE Lions.
