Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Nicosia:Anorthosis (#5) and PAEEK (#8). Anorthosis (6-2) crushed visiting PAEEK (2-6) by 17 points 96-79 . The game was mostly controlled by Anorthosis. PAEEK was better in third quarter 23-21 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anorthosis made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Anorthosis outrebounded PAEEK 44-24 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Lee Skinner (198-1992, college: Wofford) nailed 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and the former international forward Georgios Tretiakov (195-2000) accounted for 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Anorthosis' coach Antonis Konstantinides allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard EJ Day (180-2000, college: Lasell) came up with 26 points (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and the former international swingman Viktor Ieronymidis (200-1995, college: St.Martin's) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for PAEEK in the defeat. Five Anorthosis and four PAEEK players scored in double figures. Anorthosis have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with AEL and Keravnos. PAEEK lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Etha.
