Very important is a home loss of third rankedApoel (9-3) against fourth ranked Anorthosis (10-3) on Thursday night. Host Apoel was crushed by Anorthosis in Nicosia 83-46 . The game without a history. Anorthosis led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Apoel 's 24. Anorthosis players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American guard Landrius Horton (193-1998, college: Columbus St.) scored 20 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Lee Skinner (198-1992, college: Wofford) chipped in 9 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Anorthosis players scored in double figures. The former international guard Ioannis Giannaras (187-1999) responded with 21 points and American forward Jayveous McKinnis (201-1999, college: Ole Miss) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Apoel's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Anorthosis have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Apoel at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost.
