Regular Season Round 23: MBA-2 - Novocherkassk 121-64

Bottom-rankedNovocherkassk (0-19) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 121-64 loss to seventh ranked MBA-2 (10-9) in Moscow. They dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Novocherkassk 's 22. MBA-2 forced 23 Novocherkassk turnovers and outrebounded them 50-27 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. MBA-2 players were unselfish on offense dishing 39 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Novocherkassk 's players. Forward Elizaveta Khlapova-Nikishova (184-2002) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Center Mariya Ushakova (196-2006, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four MBA-2 players scored in double figures. MBA-2's coach Andrey Dolopchi felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Yana Gaffarova (-2004) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Anastasia Fedorova (168-1987) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Novocherkassk. MBA-2 moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Spartak. Novocherkassk lost their nineteenth game in a row. They still close the standings.
