The game had a very big importance for second-rankedAEK Larnaca as it allowed them to take a leadership position. AEK Larnaca smashed 7th ranked PAEEK at home 120-80 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of PAEEK. The game without a history. AEK Larnaca led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to PAEEK 's 44. They outrebounded PAEEK 51-27 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. AEK Larnaca looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 20 passes made by PAEEK 's players. American point guard Tookie Brown (180-1995, college: Georgia South) scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Taveion Hollingsworth (188-1999, college: WKU) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Four AEK Larnaca players scored in double figures. AEK Larnaca's coach Christophoros Livadiotis felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American point guard EJ Day (180-2000, college: Lasell) with 38 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and center Emilios Vasiliou (195-1995) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. AEK Larnaca have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Keravnos. Newly promoted PAEEK dropped to the sixth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Apollon.
