Rather expected game in Nicosia where 6th rankedApollon (6-11) was crushed by third ranked Anorthosis (13-3) 96-72 on Saturday. The game without a history. Anorthosis led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Anorthosis outrebounded Apollon 45-33 including 30 on the defensive glass. Anorthosis looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Apollon 's players. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Landrius Horton (193-1998, college: Columbus St.) who scored 24 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Forward Lee Skinner (198-1992, college: Wofford) chipped in 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Anorthosis players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard New Williams (185-1996, college: Fresno St.) who recorded 35 points (!!!) and 4 assists and forward LG Gill (203-1994, college: Maryland) added 18 points and 16 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anorthosis have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 13-3 record behind leader AEK Larnaca. Apollon lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with PAEEK.
