Round in OPAP Basket League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Nicosia where hostKeravnos (15-2) beat league's leader AEK Larnaca (14-3) 87-83 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of AEK Larnaca. It was a key game for the top position in the league. AEK Larnaca was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 27-16 charge of Keravnos, which allowed them to win the game. They made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by AEK Larnaca helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Jeffrey Crockett (201-1991, college: Texas Tech) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners. His fellow American import point guard Shavar Reynolds Jr (188-1998, college: Monmouth, agency: Haylett Sports) chipped in 22 points and 7 assists. Four Keravnos players scored in double figures. American guard Taveion Hollingsworth (188-1999, college: WKU) produced 39 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and Australian forward Jesse Hunt (203-1997, college: EWU, agency: Worldwide SM) added 5 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Keravnos have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Defending champion AEK Larnaca dropped to the second place with three games lost. They share the position with Anorthosis. They were replaced at the leadership position by Keravnos.
